general workers get 0% or maybe 2%....would like to see other perks, travel paid for, meals/entertainment, gas mileage, car allowance, etc all that should be considered part of the salary package. Budget running at a deficit as it is, now adding about $27,000 to that, which in turn means tax payers will get dinged somehow with covering that cost more money out of our pockets less we put into our community, people on fixed income. why not worry about those being kicked out of their homes right now with no where to go, that should be your priority if you care about your community and its people

It would be helpful to know how each member voted .

Not surprised.. just shows that most politicians are in it for themselves and do not care at all about the tax payer. Sad times in this country with greed being the main driver. 27% Shame!

This is proof positive that it is - they could have given themselves a reasonable and more palatable raise, but no they opted to go for the maximum they could ,,,, shameful IMO !

Seriously, a 27% raise with benefits? Who the heck gets that?

What’s next, a pension?

Just put more burden on the taxpayer like the residents of this town a can afford more. I am disgusted reading this article as I am sure my fellow taxpayers will be as well!

A 2.7% raise would be appropriate in these hard times…..

To much to justify for the commitment and abilities demonstrated to date and proven does not warrant such burden to its community when better leadership can be found doing it cheaper and even free within its own citizens leading in the better ways. As long as this current leadership fails its community and sacrifices the same for profits with such things like toxic soil deals, and their refusal to operate in a transparent manner, they will not have our confidence nor will they have our support. We will not commit to our required community contributions that support the self serving initiatives to capitalize on services they never seem to deliver. No leadership found here yet; better luck next time those who commit to such redundant systems of leadership.

Thanks to Councillors Pellerin and Pharand for disagreeing with this outrageous pay increase! Who gets that these days? I have been a member of this community for only 3 years and have seen the underhanded wrong doings of this council and staff. Why not put this money back into the community. There is so much needed here. All I can say is I can’t wait to move!

Looks some of them don't expect to get reelected and are taking what they can while they can.

I would be curious to know how many hours per week that each councillor and the mayor work at this job? Sounds to me like a salary for a full time job!

I'll do it in my spare time like they do and won't charge the community a dime, and likely do it better knowing my track record.

In close the raises are to much for positions now simply turned mandate messengers from their Provincial mandate makers bending over for the federal ones. I make better desicions that make more difference than anything I can say these folks have done. It's just mismanaged incompetent redundancy at this point. They only speak for themselves now just like you why pay them to do what your already doing.
