Councillor Anne Tessier resigns
For the second time this year, council will vote to appoint a new councillor.
Earlier today, the Municipality of West Nipissing announced that Ward 6 councillor, Anne Tessier, has resigned. Ms. Tessier indicates that she and her family will be relocating for another opportunity and as such she is vacating her seat on council.
Less than four months ago, councillor Jerome Courchese resigned his seat and council chose Georges Pharand to replace him.
Council will once again declare this seat vacant at their next meeting on August 13th. Afterwards a nomination process will begin.
Tessier was known for truly representing the residents of West Nipissing. A petition supporting her position on a local board last year garnered over 300 signatures.
In the 2022 municipal elections, Tessier won 57% of the popular vote beating out incumbent Rolland Larabie.

Who do we contact to have the Council reviewed? We've only lived up here for a couple years and I've never seen a more dysfunctional council. The people need proper and honest representation, not bullies and narcissists just there to collect a paycheck and vote themselves raises. We need more transparency ASAP to alleviate the view of childish toxicity many of us are seeing through meetings and reporting.
I don’t blame her to leave this shit hole run by narcissist bullies, I wish her well in her next adventure.
