Sudbury needs over 900 housing units just to house the homeless and those that are close to homeless. West Nippising needs a thousand units. It is a great time to start a small construction company.

Good idea. But there needs someone to pay for all those houses.

Well, the municipalities’ taxpayers, the provincial taxpayers and the federal taxpayers will have to pony up. Private investors want taxpayer subsides to build affordable housing, so the taxpayers’ pockets gets picked for the 4th time.

However, the costs are so high, and the demands for social spending are so endless that far fewer than those numbers of housing units will get built.

I still think that it is a great time to start a construction company. Unlike private developers, the taxpayers funded governments always pay their bills.

As long as it’s affordable for the people, you can build all you want but if the rent is out of reach for the low income workers they will sit empty

The mayor needs to plan temporary housing for the homeless. She didn't even try to have a warming center for them.School houses or even army tents.Instead the police keep making them move their tents. Instead of giving them a hard time they should be helped.

The town doesn't care about the citizens. They are too busy being in magazine articles about their great developments, or at least they are intending to do for the last 10 years, and trying to win town makeovers, like a high school kid. Instead of those less fortunate. The don't think twice about sheeting all over front street that didn't even last year.
