Police arrest two, seize over $100k in drugs in Sturgeon Falls
Traffic stop leads to biggest bust of the year.
On October 23rd, Nipissing West OPP conducted a traffic stop on Front Street in Sturgeon Falls. A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of drugs suspected to be fentanyl and cocaine with an estimated value of over $100,000.
Two residents of West Nipissing were arrested and charged. Lucie Beaudry (37), and Mark Cromwell (35) each face two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking. They were released and are scheduled to appear in court on December 5th.
West Nipissing has seen a slew of recent drug related arrests. Over a dozen arrests have now been made for drugs and weapons related charges in the region this year.
The latest drug bust appears like the largest one since 2022 when the OPP seized $120,000 of fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine on Demers street. In 2021, the OPP also arrested two individuals after a search revealed $113,000 worth of drugs and stolen guns on Main street.
