This is wrong....very wrong. Our official, legal CANADIAN flag represents every citizen. It does not discriminate based on sexual choices but we are supposed to look at a flag that does not include me?? This is unacceptable. I cannot believe that this slipped by without public input.
This is wrong. Our Canadian flag should remain in its place. If additional flags are to be flown they need their own poles. I do not feel it is correct to REPLACE our national flag. Please understand that I do not express any negative feelings towards any of our citizens but our national flag is the flag of Canada.

Just wondering who is represented by the Pride flag and who isn't. That would be less than 1% of the population may be represented by the Pride flag. Who is represented by the Canadian flag? 100% of the population. So, local teens have been subjected to "strong encouragement over 4 years of high school" to go into an LBCTGQ+ run always available clubhouse style room with free snacks, plus assemblies, guest speakers and who knows what other "information" about being, coming out as, try it and discover your true self "stuff" and now a half dozen paid elected "representatives" of the community vote in favour of actually removing the Canadian flag in our various communities and replacing it for 1/12th of the year!

Everyone of us has to write a letter to our councillor and the mayor stating exactly what has been expressed here. Given the important symbolism of the flag it should always be treated with respect. The Canadian flag should be taken down for no reason. Special interest flags get their own pole. The position of three flags with a Municipality: if you stand facing the flags, Canada flag is in the centre Ontario flag is to the left and the Municipality flag is to the right if there are more than three flags the position of honour is to the far left, followed by the other flags in order of precedence . All this to say that removing the flag is disrespectful to all Canadians.
By sending letters, town council will be forced to make a flag policy that respects everyone instead of a select few. And respects our Canadian flag!! I will be writing mine tomorrow.
I am not sure where this council is going. I like what Barbara Phillips said in her comment that the Canadian flag is for all Canadians. Since council is favoring a small minority and not just this minority, i will speak my mind for the majority of the residents. This council is going the wrong way. From building 1100 homes for the overflow from Brampton because that is what it is. Of we have no infrastructure nor jobs, to the Canadian flag. I see high school kids going with their resume to certain businesses, to be turned down because the business does not get a 30% goverment subsidy because of their race or skin colour. I know that is all Federal but we are going the wrong way here. Thank You.
In the first quarter 875000 immigrants ( permanent and work visas) of the work visas over 45% are from India. Carney just opened immigration to 3.2 million people with the majority from India. You tell me who is filling up those 1100 homes.
We need our Canadian flags to fly now more than ever. They should never be taken down. If you want to fly the pride flag I don’t have a problem with that but do it on a separate pole. It is a real disgrace to see what is happening in our country. Instead of standing together as one great nation we are removing our Canadian Flag to replace them with one that only represents a small percentage of our population. My Grandson is in the army and is leaving on deployment to Latvia for 6 months. He was totally disgusted when I read him this article yesterday. What and who am I going for he asked. There are probably other flags that could be removed for a month, but not the Canadian flag. 🇨🇦 I would like to see it put back.
