Tax sale offers great deals
13 properties up for sale with some $5,000 starting bids and a $35,000 house.
September 23rd is the deadline to put a bid on one of 13 properties recently put up for auction by the municipality.
These properties are considered a tax sale as the owners have fallen behind on their taxes and the municipality is selling them to recover their costs.
Some of the lots for sale are landlocked but being offered with a very low minimum bid. Two such lots in Sturgeon Falls are listed for $5,585 and $4,880.
One 5 acre lot in Cache Bay on an unmaintained road allowance is being offered for $35,000.
But the diamond in the ruff on this tax sale might be the corner lot in town with an existing house and garage for $35,113. According to Google Maps, 313 Main street appears to offer a large single family home with a double garage on a desirable lot behind a playground. The municipal assessment on this property is $261,000 however the starting bid is currently lower than the price of a new car.
Bidders have until 3PM on September 23rd to submit their offer. The tenders will then be opened in public on the same day as soon as possible after 3:00 p.m. at the Municipal Office. The opening of the bids is also supposed to be livestreamed.

This municipality does not operate in a transparent manner and should be investigated soon. They have been instructed to provide a detailed comprehensive breakdown of our municipal taxes and they have refused to do so indicating questionable operations and management. Anyone who may own these properties probably don't realize the municipality would have no chance of success in any litigation launched. We haven't committed any community contributions(taxes) to this questionable municipal government because to date they haven't provided disclosure nor do they provide the confidence they are qualified to manage my contributions appropriately. I suggest everyone contacts the municipal office and ask to review their "personal amounts expected" to make sure your not being billed for slush funds your not privy to and once they get ignored will join the rebellion again incompetent mismanaged corrupt political platforms that are simply an appendage to the bigger beast currently fueling the global shit show. Fixing you fixes everything 😉
