TBT: How Vaccine Policies Impacted the 2022 Elections
We must never let hysteria circumvent our democratic process again.
In a #throwback Thursday theme this week, I want to share an opinion and analysis I wrote reflecting on how mRNA policies likely had an impact on the 2022 West Nipissing mayoral race (and many other elections in 2022).
We have all come to realize that the vaccine mandates of 2021 and 2022 were a mistake. They created completely unnecessary staffing shortages and led to widespread societal division. But one underreported consequence of these mandates is that they likely had a real impact on our democratic system.
Let me explain.
Throughout 2021, many municipalities implemented COVID vaccination policies that required staff, volunteers and most importantly, councillors to be vaccinated. In West Nipissing constant turmoil and skipped meetings meant that the city did not come around to passing their vaccination policy until late January 2022. Long after it was clear that the vaccines did not stop the spread of the virus.
I pressed this council with the detrimental fact that this policy risked impeding on the democratic process as they would be dictating who could become a councillor based on their personal health choice.
One councillor who was a strong supporter of this policy even seeked to clarify at council that this policy would in fact be used to weed out candidates. When I spoke to Councillor Chris Fisher on the subject in January of 2022 he said he seen no problems in making sure elected councillors had their shots.
At their February 2022 meeting council discussed if they could prevent someone from running in the upcoming elections based on their vaccination status.
The CAO told them that although this policy would not preclude someone from submitting their name to run, their ability to be a councillor if elected was most definitely not certain. The CAO told council that they would deal with these issues as they arose. The understanding was that anyone not in compliance with the policy would not be allowed to attend meetings or enter city facilities. These questions along with any discipline for such a councillor would eventually be dealt with by the integrity commissioner. One councillor at that meeting opined that hopefully this policy wouldn’t be in force by the next elections and wouldn’t have any impact.
Although I opposed all vaccine mandates, I was particularly concerned with the democratic process. A process that is sacred to our Western values and a process that we cannot take for granted.
I kept pressing this council to reconsider this decision ahead of the fall elections. I emailed them repeatedly and I joined a group of local supporters to present a letter to council to ask that they scrap their policy.
Three months before the elections in July 2022, this council voted 5-4 to scrap this policy. However because the policy was less than a year old, this resolution required unanimous support. This meant that the policy would stand indefinitely.
Three vaccinated councillors that were running in the upcoming elections (Larabie, Fisher & Roveda), voted to keep unvaccinated candidates out of office. This presented a serious conflict of interest that was never declared.
Regardless of this policy, a number of openly unvaccinated candidates including myself put our names forward to run in the October elections.
While they insisted that we could not be prohibited from running, we knew that our ability to simply attend meetings if elected would be impacted.
I will not pretend like it seriously impacted my chances as I lost by a substantial margin but it certainly was not inconsequential. But in a much more crucial race, the mayoral contest, this policy may have made the difference.
Dave Lewington is a local farmer and was a strong advocate against all lockdowns and vaccine mandates throughout 2020-2022. But Dave was also a reasonable and well known critic of all municipal malfeasance. His campaign focused on less tax increases, less bureaucracy and more transparency.
He had amassed a strong following and stood a reasonable chance of winning.
Dave finished second place in the 2022 election with over 30% of the votes. He beat out incumbent councillor Dan Roveda who spent over $11,000 campaigning and was only 700 votes shy of winning the mayoral race.
It was clear on the campaign trail that people supported Dave. Even the ones that disagreed with his stance on lockdowns and vaccine mandates supported his desire for transparency and accountability.
But there is no doubt that voters were worried that their potential mayor could not even enter council chambers or occupy the mayor’s office inside city hall. Lewington faced the possibility of being preventing from even entering the municipal offices and from having meetings with municipal staff. All because of his choice to decline the mRNAs.
Undoubtedly, this impacted many voters decisions. How many? We don’t know.*
Many who were on the fence likely didn’t want to risk starting a new electoral term with a mayor who would have to battle to enter meetings.
*This election also had a historically low turnout of 45% in part due to West Nipissing’s delays and mismanament of the exclusive and unique mail-in ballot system.
Just a few months prior, a unvaccinated Conservative MP was escorted off Parliament Hill by the Sergeant-at-Arms because she attempted to join a meeting in person.
Although a lot more obvious, Dave and West Nipissing’s case were not unqiue. Most municipalities in Ontario implemented vaccination policies in 2021. Many rightfully abandoned them ahead of the 2022 elections. But many didn’t…
We will never know how many races that these unconstitutional rules impacted. I don’t think we should ever attempt to reevaluate or challenge the results from 2022. But I think we need to collectively accept that it should not have had any impact at all. We should collectively acknowledge that we should not have toyed with our democratic values and make sure we never attempt such rules ever again.

Public health and exclusion: Perpetrated on an ignorant public because so called community leaders would NOT disciple their minds to actually read what toxicologists, virologists, endocrinologists and many other experts were saying. For the lazy and those seeking Liberal approval it was all too easy to follow like sheep. The data was available in 2020. In 2021 through to 2023 the amount of data could not be waved away as 'conspiracy theories by anti-vaxers.' The fact that there are those who still persist in this deadly fantasy causes me to despair for Canadians. Every person in Canada, including those with the least inquisitive minds, knew that in 2019 Trudeau shut down Canada's Early Health Warning System. We had the best system in the world! We had eyes and ears in every nook and cranny around the world. But Trudeau shut it down and took direction only from Beijing China. Not long after we found that the vaccine did not, and does not, stop the spread of infection. Of course the media changed the vocabulary. If you were multi jabbed and still became ill with the virus it was called a ''Break through virus" {what ever the hell that is.} Then the media actually said that even though you can get sick with the virus you won't get as sick, because you are vaccinated. It turns out that was also a lie. The vaccinated were, and are, three times more likely to end up in hospital. What perplexes me most is the absolute unwillingness of these councillors to pause and consider that they may not have all the facts. A sensible person thinks carefully, considers all aspects of an issue, and studies night and day to arrive at a balanced view. These Councillors apparently had no need to study the facts, they had an emotional public on their side. How many of us now respect those who made these decisions? Was it laziness? Was it just too easy and politically expedient to ostracize the unvaccinated for the sake of the 'greater good'? And where is the 'greater good' now? From the numbers I am seeing .........not doing too well. So far, 500,000 children in the US have died from vaccine injuries. How did Canada go so far wrong? Simply, with the help of fake data. As scripture says, ''Money is the root of all evil. Enter, a Toronto professor, David Fiscum, foremost on the 'root of all evil' list. His fake research was funded by the federal government and pharmaceutical companies. Fiscum actually sits on the Board of 3 of these companies, and is paid by these same companies. Fiscum dreamed up a model, not based on real population numbers, but, on false data he feed into the system. The result was exactly what the federal government and the pharmaceutical companies paid him to produce and this research became the foundation on which the liars and deceivers of all levels of government ordered the vaccine mandates. No. They were not a "mistake".

The policy to bar "unvaccinated" elected representatives from meetings and buildings is shocking. I wonder if there is a legal case anywhere?
Municipalities were undoubtedly told precisely what to do, and either given lots of money or threatened with the loss of it. Ignorant or complicit. There's a higher standard for those in public office to seek the truth of matters.
Canada had professional emergency management units at the provincial level in each province, and extensive pandemic emergency plans. The experts were sidelined to put public health bureaucrats without a clue in apparent charge. The policies which were implemented did not at all resemble the plans. Didn't municipal governments know the emergency management units existed or wonder why they were bypassed? See this testimony at the National Citizens Inquiry:

Speaking of "democracy"-- There is also a UN-fronted coup unfolding through manipulation of local governments and the planning process (Agenda 2021/ decade 2030). This is essentially a land grab. Firstly, WN must be kept OUT of any "partnership" with ICLEI- Local Governments for Sustainability (ICLEI Canada).
